ABOUT

I lived part of my life at a speed I could not maintain. For years doctors could not diagnose my heart issues. Finally, I had an episode while at the doctor’s office and was diagnosed with panic attacks.

Through that experience God taught me that I can’t live life without space. If I do, I need to carve out time for the inevitable panic attack and its aftershocks. In order to avoid that, I learned that I had to slow down and simplify my life.

John and I have been married for thirty four years, and we have two adult children. I’ve had a wide-array of jobs from teacher, to computer trainer, to writer, to homeschooling mom, to student ministry. I recently finished my Master of Arts degree in Spiritual Formation and Direction from Richmont Graduate University. It seems like a hodge-podge of jobs and experiences; but God has led me from each step to the next, and it all makes sense when looking in hindsight.

I LOVE Jesus, my family, my home, my church, my friends, and my animals. You will always find me among those people and places usually with a cup of coffee in my hand. Throw in a little country music, and that’s a good time. I feel the necessity to exercise but truly enjoy reading, writing, and learning. I would consider myself a life-long learner and usually am in a class of some sort. From theater and musicals to country music concerts, I enjoy them all. I also love going on unique family experiences. My family doesn’t necessarily like all of the adventures I take them on, but the ones that occasionally turn out badly make the best memories.
